Dannevirke Christmas Parade

On Saturday it was the Dannevirke Christmas Parade.  Mrs. Bone saw Anders and Aymon and apparently Majah was on a float too.  See if you can spot anyone you know!

Science Discovery day

On Friday we had another Science Discovery Day.  In Room 1 we made planes and then had to modify the.  Here are some photos of us at work in Room 1.  We had lots of fun.

 

 In Room 2 we put a tinfoil snake above a cup  (i) of boiling water
                                                                            (ii) of ice
to see what would happen to the snakes.

In Room 3 we obseved balloon rockets of 3 different sizes.

In Room 14 we were looking at fossils.             

I pads and Educreations

On Wednesday we had the Ipads we wrote stories about the swimming. As you can see,some of us clicked on the space bar more than once so we got lots of capital letters and full stops. We did this while Mrs. Bone withdrew groups for Reading.

Swimming

This is the 3rd week that we have been going swimming.  It is really important that we learn to be safe in the water.  We are in 3 groups . 2 groups are in the middle sized pool and another group in the big pool.  We have all improved so much since we started our lessons.

Room 2 In The Computer Suite

Today in the computer suite we did a class wordle together about swimming.  Here it is:

Science Investigation Day

Today we had another Science Discovery Day.  We started in our own classes.

In Room 2 we talked about what we already knew about magnets.  Then we got into small groups.

 Each group had a chart and a group of objects such as drawing pin, plastic and metal spoon, paper clip,keys, a $1 coin and a 50c coin, card, some tinfoil and aluminum dishe and a nail.  We had to predict which objects were magnetic and which ones weren't. After that we were given a magnet to see if  our predictions were correct.

 

 

Indonesian Dance Group

On Wednesday an Indonesian Dance Group came to school.  Team 1 and 2 went to their show before play.  Ryder was chosen from our class.  He had to put on some special clothes and have a drum between his legs.
